Things they Say v.1

I don't want to ever forget some of the things that come out of my child's mouth.  They are so priceless.  And yet so often I think to myself, "If I just commit this to memory, I won't forget."  Come on, let's be real.  If I don't write it down, I won't remember even 10 minutes later what exactly she said.  So in at attempt to not forget some of Honeygirl's comments, here is today's lunch request:

Me:  How does chili and rice sound for lunch?
Honeygirl:  Umm...I think we should have a sandwich.
Me: Peanut butter and jelly?
Honeygirl:  No, I want one with ketchup, salad, and hamster.

Dinner Conversation

Honeygirl:  Momma, I would please like some salad and bread.  Toasted.  Because it's not fresh. Daddy didn't bring it home today.
Me: Okay, I'll toast the bread.
Honeygirl:  Thanks so much for the sawid (salad), Mommy.  I would please like some Italian.  On the side.
Me: (I complied)
Honeygirl:  Oh, very thank you!

Wow. Are you really only three?  I love when this polite little girl makes an appearance!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Welcome 2012. I have no idea how you arrived so soon, but it seems you have. There were days this past year that seemed far longer than a mere 24 hours, but we survived it all. And now we're on to a new year. Here are my goals for this year:

Read 12 books...at least three being non-fiction.
Try one new recipe each month
Floss daily (the lady that cleans my teeth says you MUST floss twice a day. For real? Flossing once a day would be a monumental improvement for me!)
Get back on track with sending birthday cards to all family members
Finish potty training with Miss J and start with Miss M

These things all seem doable. We'll see how it goes.
